About Romy Romy Phillips is a Los Angeles based fitness professional who is informed by many disciplines to provide a unique service to her students and clientele. She is a certified yoga instructor and personal trainer who has also studied dance professionally in New York for many years: all bodywork disciplines which help to bring elements of movement, informed technique & biomechanics to her classes and sessions.
Romy has taught yoga in the Los Angeles area for five years and is currently teaching at Santa Monica Yoga. She has just completed a DVD entitled, Yoga Sessions: Volume I & II, which will be released spring 2006. She completed Anusara Level I teacher training at City Yoga in Los Angeles & Anusara Yoga Level I & Yoga Therapeutics with John Friend. In addition she has completed intensive & workshops with Rodney Yee, Rod Stryker, Chad Hamrin, Chuck Miller, Elise Miller, Sue Elkind, Desiree Rimbaugh, & Naime Jezzeny, Richard Freeman. She has also studied ashtanga with Chuck Miller, Nancy Goodstein, Maty Ezraty, Jorgen Christianson & Mark Stephens.
Romy provides useful adjustments, emphasizing the technical details of the poses. Her sessions help clients build the foundation for a safe & progressive yoga practice. In addition, she can provide the tools for supporting a healthy lifestyle through thoughtful nutrition, pranayama/meditation and outdoor activities, such as hiking. Overall, her clients gain an informed awareness of the body and the opportunity for renewal.
